For our reformer classes, our beginner class is the JV reformer. This class focuses on building the fundamentals of reformer Pilates, teaching you about the machine, breath, control, precision, concentration, center and flow.

Mat Pilates is performed on the floor using your own body weight for resistance, focusing on core strength, posture, flexibility, and overall body awareness. It’s a great option for building foundational strength and is easily accessible for all levels. Reformer Pilates, on the other hand, is done on a specialized machine that uses springs and pulleys to provide adjustable resistance. This allows for a greater variety of exercises, deeper muscle engagement, and enhanced support or challenge depending on your needs. Whether you’re looking for the simplicity and flow of mat work or the dynamic and targeted resistance of the reformer, our classes are designed to help you move better, feel stronger, and reach your personal fitness goals.

We recommend practicing Pilates 2 to 3 times per week to start seeing noticeable improvements in strength, flexibility, posture, and overall body awareness. Consistency is key, and even one session a week can offer benefits, especially if you’re just beginning. As your body adapts, increasing your practice to 3 to 4 times per week can help you progress more quickly and deepen your results. Our instructors can also help you create a balanced schedule based on your goals and experience level.

Arriving to class 5-10 minutes early is best! If it is your first class, we will need to get you checked in. We ask that you don’t arrive more than 10 minutes early to a class, since we run classes back to back, which ensures we have a smooth transition for clients and instructors between our classes.
